Plant Defenses

Plant Defenses

There are many hypotheses as to what THC does for cannabis. Without playing a direct role in growth, development, or reproduction, some researchers believe that THC protects this great spirit from fungi and microbial infection. For the THC lovers among us, it might be hard to conceive of THC as a weapon. But plants' main predators are the animals that feed on them. From insects to camels, plants have developed all sorts of defenses to keep them at bay.

Here are some plant defenses that you may recognize:
Spice (as found in Chili Peppers)
Poison (as found in Rhubarb leaves)
Thorns (as found on Roses)
Spikes (as found on Cacti)

What nature does, humans will inevitably try to emulate. We’ve crafted a few weapons of our own, inspired by the wisdom of plants. Stay tuned for the next post!
