Unity and leadership are big questions today in the world. Who are our leaders and how do we find peace between ourselves? Sometimes it helps to look to history to find examples. One historical person we look to for this is Cyrus the Great, founder of the First Persian Empire. Cyrus is celebrated down through history as a benevolent, wise, and respectful king. Different religious traditions mention him. The Hebrew Bible even celebrates Cyrus for freeing the Isrealites from captivity. Cyrus the Great has left a legacy of benevolent and tolerant leadership that we can study today. He is truly a Great Spirit.
